Who it is for

Dahua is the comfortable choice for a mid-sized villa: four to eight cameras covering entrances, perimeter and yard, with person and vehicle detection that does not fill your phone with alerts because a branch moved. It works just as well in shops and offices. And it is worth remembering that Dahua also makes alarms, so if you want cameras and alarm from the same manufacturer, that route exists in our catalogue. What to compare

1. WizSense. The analytics that separate people and vehicles from generic motion. It is the difference between reviewing ten alerts a day and reviewing a hundred.
2. Illumination. Smart Dual Light combines infrared and white light: black and white while nothing happens, colour the moment something is detected. It deters without leaving a floodlight on all night.
3. Active deterrence. Some models add a siren and light on detection. Useful on a perimeter; annoying if aimed at a walkway.
4. IP or 4-in-1. The 4-in-1 models let you reuse existing coaxial cable; IP models need PoE but give more resolution and analytics.
5. Recorder and PoE ports. An NVR with built-in PoE simplifies the cabinet. Count ports and watts before buying.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Smart Dual Light white light on all night?
It does not have to be. You can set the camera to record in infrared (black and white) and switch the white light on only when a person or vehicle is detected. You get colour when it matters without lighting the façade for eight hours or bothering your neighbours.

Does active deterrence also alert my phone, or does it just make noise?
Both: it triggers the light and siren on site and sends the notification with the event snapshot. What you should decide before installing is where it points, because on a pavement or a shared access it will trigger far too often.

Can I start with two cameras and get to six later?
Yes, provided the recorder and the switch start out with spare ports and bandwidth. Buying a four-channel NVR “to start with” is the mistake that forces a replacement a year later; tell us where you want to end up and we size it once.
