Description
This is the camera for the spot where there is no cable and nobody wants to chase a wall to bring one: it connects over Wi-Fi and only needs power. It is a turret — that adjustable half-ball, no visor — so it sits neatly under a soffit or on a porch ceiling without shouting as loudly as a bullet.
It records at 5 MP at 25/30 frames per second, with a light 640×360 second stream for watching on the phone without burning data, and compresses in H.265 or H.264. The interesting part is the dual light: infrared when all that matters is detecting, and white light when you want colour images at night, which is what lets you recognise a person or tell the colour of a car. With the white light on, consumption rises from 2.1 W to 5.1 W. The body is metal and plastic, adjusts on three axes and takes −40 °C to +60 °C.
How we install it. With no data cable, the work comes down to two things: finding a point with power and with real Wi-Fi coverage — not what the router claims, what is measured in that corner — and aiming it so the white light does not fire all night at every passing cat. It is commissioned from the DMSS app; it can also be managed from Smart PSS Lite or DSS. If the Wi-Fi does not hold, we do not force it: we move the point or propose a wired camera.
