Ajax Accessories

Ajax accessories: keypads, sirens, relays and modules

Everything you add to an Ajax system that is already installed: keypads with and without RFID readers, indoor and outdoor sirens, panic and fire buttons, relays, water shut-off valves, signal repeaters, integration modules and power supplies.

Who it is for

For anyone who already has the Ajax hub and wants to solve something specific: letting the family arm without a phone (keypad), making sure an intruder hears it from the street (outdoor siren), having a water leak close the mains valve by itself (shut-off valve), getting signal to the pool house (repeater), or having the alarm trigger a light or a blind (relay). Also for installers restocking parts for Ajax projects.

What to compare

  1. Plain keypad or with reader. A keypad asks for a code; one with an RFID reader lets you arm with a fob or card, handy for cleaners or maintenance staff without sharing the code.
  2. Security grade. Some accessories are grade-certified, others are not. If the installation has to keep a given grade, the accessory counts too.
  3. Indoor or outdoor siren. The indoor one drives the intruder out; the outdoor one alerts the neighbourhood and is the stronger deterrent. Many installations need both.
  4. Power. Most of it runs on long-life batteries; relays and some modules need mains. Check whether you need a supply and room in the box.
  5. Coverage. Before buying a repeater, look at the signal strength the app reports at the problem point — sometimes moving the hub solves it.

How it gets installed here

In Costa del Sol villas the most-added accessory is the outdoor siren on the façade, high and out of reach, followed by a keypad next to the service door. In holiday rentals, fobs and cards work very well: you hand them out and revoke them without changing the house code. Automatic water shut-off is the accessory people are most grateful for in properties that sit empty for months.

Frequently asked questions

Can I give the cleaner access without giving them my code?
Yes, with an RFID keypad and a fob or card assigned to that person. The history shows who armed and disarmed, and if they stop coming you revoke that fob without touching anyone else’s codes.

Does the outdoor siren need a mains cable?
The system’s outdoor sirens run on their own battery and talk to the hub wirelessly, so you can mount them where they are useful rather than where a cable reaches. Height is what matters: above three metres and out of reach from a fence or a car roof.

Will a signal repeater fix any area with no coverage?
Not always. A repeater extends range, but it needs a good link to the hub itself. If the dead spot is behind a concrete wall or in a basement, the answer is sometimes to relocate the hub or use a wired detector with an expander.
