Description
Almost every house with an old alarm has the same problem: there are wired detectors working perfectly, but the control panel is fifteen years old. This Ajax transmitter solves that — it turns a wired detector into an Ajax system device, without throwing away what is already installed.
It has a configurable NO/NC alarm input and a tamper input, plus a 3 V output to power the wired detector. What comes in on the cable goes out over Jeweller radio at 868 MHz, with up to 1,600 metres in open space.
- Jamming detection: if someone tries to block the radio, the system knows.
- Accelerometer tamper: it reports being moved or prised off, not only opened.
- Three CR123A batteries, so it does not depend on the old installation’s power supply.
- Only 100 × 39 × 22 mm: it fits inside a junction box.
- Range of −25 to 50 °C.
This is an installer’s part, not a user’s: you need to know which contact is which and how the old detector was configured. Declared use is indoor. If you have an old alarm and would rather not scrap everything, tell us: more is often reusable than people expect.
