Description
An outdoor photo detector: it protects the garden, the terrace or the side passage before anyone reaches the house. Detection adjustable from 3 to 15 metres, immune to pets of up to 20 kg, with anti-masking to warn if someone tries to cover it, in an IP55 housing. The images it sends are VGA, meant to tell you what is happening, not to identify anyone.

Who it’s for and who it’s not. This is the detector that alerts before anyone reaches the door: garden, terrace, side passage, the part of the property where people enter. It is not for the interior of the house —that would be unnecessary— nor for monitoring an area with continuous foot traffic, where it would end up alerting all day.
What’s included in the box. The outdoor motion detector with its Jeweller radio at 868 MHz and internal antenna, anti-tamper feature, infrared illumination for night mode, and pet immunity for pets up to 20 kg. It is powered by 4 CR123A 3.0 V batteries, with an approximate lifespan of 3 years.
How to install it on the Costa del Sol. It is designed for outdoor use, with IP55 protection and a temperature range of −25 °C to 60 °C, mounted low on the wall: between 0.8 and 1.3 m from the ground. This height creates a detection curtain at leg level and excludes what passes above. In a property on the Costa del Sol, it should be oriented along the passage, not facing it directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it mounted so low, at less than one and a half meters?
Because its detection field is an adjustable strip from 3 to 15 m with a 90° opening, designed to be mounted between 0.8 and 1.3 m. Raising it higher does not increase coverage: it shifts it and starts detecting what is not relevant.
What happens if someone covers the sensor with a bag?
It has anti-masking, so the system would be alerted. This is the practical difference with indoor motion detectors, which do not have this feature.
Does it work with any Ajax hub?
With this model, the declared compatibility is Hub 2 and Hub 2 Plus. This is the first thing to check if the system is already installed with another hub.
