Dual PIR Curtain Detector for Outdoor – Ajax

Description

An outdoor detector has one clear enemy: false alarms. This Ajax unit attacks the problem from two directions at once — dual curtain PIR plus K-band microwave (24 GHz). It only reports when both technologies agree, so rain, a branch or a sudden temperature swing will not set it off.

It mounts at 2.4 m and watches a narrow plane — 8° horizontal, 85° vertical — tight to the façade, catching whoever approaches a window before they touch it. Range is chosen on the device: up to 12 m, 8 m for short runs, or pet-immune mode up to 12 m.

• Immune to pets up to 100 cm tall when mounted at 1 m: the dog can still go out at night.
• Anti-masking and a tamper switch: it reports being covered or opened.
• IP55, −25 to 60 °C, up to 95 % humidity. Includes SmartBracket, angle bracket and cover.
• Over-the-air firmware updates: it improves without anyone climbing a ladder again.
• Two CR123A batteries lasting around 3 years, on Jeweller radio at 868 MHz, up to 1,700 m in the open.

It works with Hub 2 (2G and 4G), Hub 2 Plus, Hub Hybrid and ReX 2 — not with first-generation hubs, which is worth checking first. We install it at the right height and set the sensitivity in front of you.
