Description
This is the kit most homes start with. Four pieces come in the box: the Hub, which is the brain of the system; a MotionProtect movement detector for the corridor or hallway everyone has to walk through; a DoorProtect magnetic contact for the door or window an intruder would actually use; and a SpaceControl key fob so you can arm and disarm without reaching for your phone.
The Hub talks to the detectors over 868 MHz Jeweller radio, and to you over Ethernet and GPRS — cut the cable and the alarm still reaches you over the mobile network. Grade 2 and up to 100 devices: a starting point rather than a ceiling — add an outdoor siren, more detectors or a keypad as the house grows.
When this one fits, and when it doesn’t. Pick it if the property has fibre or cable and alerts are enough for you. If you want to see what set the alarm off before you call anyone, or the house is isolated and you would rather have dual-SIM 4G, look at the Grade 2 kit with HDR camera and dual-SIM 4G instead. How we install it. The Hub goes indoors — Ajax does not allow outdoor mounting — screwed to its SmartBracket, which carries a rear tamper: pull it off and the system says so. It needs power nearby and a network socket if you use the cable; the SIM goes in with its PIN disabled. Detectors hang at the height Ajax specifies, across the walkway everyone uses, never facing windows or radiators. Everything is registered by QR in the app, and we close with the zone and signal tests.
