Description
An ordinary home alarm goes down in three ways: the power is cut, the line is cut, or the radio is jammed. This kit publishes a defence for all three, which is why it is the one we fit when a customer has already had a scare.
The Hub 2 panel reports over Ethernet cable and over two GPRS SIM cards — three routes, and one failing is not the same as going silent. It carries a backup battery, so a power cut in the off season does not switch the house off; an anti-tamper switch that speaks up if someone tries to open the unit; and jamming detection on the radio link. Detectors talk on 868 MHz with Jeweller and Wings, up to 2,000 m in open space. The box holds the panel, a MotionCam (motion detector with a camera, so you see what triggered it), a MotionProtect and a key fob. Grade 2 certified.
How we install it. The panel goes indoors on its SmartBracket — the bracket holds the rear tamper, so it has to be properly screwed to the wall, not propped against it — with power nearby, a network socket if you use the cable, and both SIMs with their PIN disabled. The two detectors are hung at the height Ajax specifies, across the walkway everyone uses, never facing a window or a radiator. Everything is registered by QR in the app, and we close with the detection-zone test and the signal-strength test.
If you also want it audible inside the house, add an indoor siren. The step up, with keypad and siren already included, is the Ethernet and dual-SIM kit. Panels on their own are under Ajax alarm hubs.
