Description
A flat or an average-sized house does not need a 200-device system. It needs the door people actually come through covered properly, the internal walkway everyone crosses covered too, and arming and disarming to take no thought at all. That is exactly this kit: a Hub 2 panel, a PIRCAM HDR photo detector, a magnetic contact and a key fob.
The photo detector is the piece that changes daily life: when it trips, photos of whatever caused it arrive, and you decide with information instead of nerves. The panel reports over Ethernet and two 2G (GPRS) SIMs — three routes — is Grade 2 certified, takes up to 100 devices and up to 25 IP cameras or recorder channels, and its 868 MHz radio (Jeweller and Wings) reaches around 2,000 m in open space. It has an anti-tamper switch and receives firmware updates remotely, so it does not age standing still.
How we install it. The panel is screwed to an indoor wall on its SmartBracket — the rear tamper is what reports it being pulled off — with power beside it, a network socket if the cable path is used, and both SIMs with the PIN removed. The photo detector goes at the height Ajax specifies, across the walkway everyone must use, never facing a window and never with a radiator in front. We register each piece by QR in the app and finish with the detection-zone test and the signal-strength test.
If the house is large, has outbuildings or will carry cameras, the step up is the Hub 2 Plus kit (200 devices, four communication routes). If you already have detectors and only need the panel, that is the Hub 2. Every other combination lives under kits.
