Description
An ordinary motion detector forces a choice: either you set the alarm and stop moving around the house, or you move and leave the house unprotected. The Ajax CurtainProtect breaks that deadlock: it creates an invisible curtain right against the window, so you can sit in the living room with the alarm armed and it will only trip if somebody tries to come in that way.
It uses a dual curtain PIR, with a beam of 6° horizontally and 90° vertically and a range adjustable between 6 and 15 metres. It mounts at 2.4 m and covers the plane of a window, a sliding door or a narrow corridor.
- Three sensitivity levels and a tamper switch.
- IP54 and −25 to 60 °C: it holds up in a glazed gallery, a covered porch or a draughty window.
- One CR123A battery lasting around 3 years.
- Includes a standard bracket and an L bracket, which is what lets you fix it to the frame.
- Narrow body, 134 × 44 × 34 mm: in black, on a dark frame, it is invisible.
It has no anti-masking and its declared use is indoor. Range and angle have to be set on site: badly placed, it either does not trip or trips on the curtains. We fit it and test it with you there.
