Description
The same 8-channel Ajax recorder, in white. This is the one to pick when the kit will be on show: next to the router in a hallway, on an open shelf, in an office — anywhere a black box stands out and a white one does not.
Inside, nothing changes: up to 4K at 25/30 frames per second, H.265 and H.264 compression and 100 Mbps of total bandwidth shared across the eight cameras. It accepts ONVIF and RTSP cameras from any brand, and everything — cameras and alarm — is seen from the Ajax app your family already uses.
- Eight channels: for a home with a perimeter and the entrances, that is usually more than enough.
- Scheduled or motion recording, which is what decides whether you keep four days or four weeks.
- Bay for one 3.5″ SATA disk of up to 16 TB. The disk is not included.
- 230 V mains power and an RJ45 connection; no Wi-Fi, it goes wired.
- Square 200 × 200 mm chassis, only 45 mm high, 700 g.
It runs from 0 to 40 °C at up to 75 % humidity: this is indoor equipment. And it is worth saying plainly — a recorder does not watch, it stores. The alarm is what raises the warning. We fit both and leave you with a single app on your phone.
Who it’s for and who it’s not. This is the eight-channel recorder for when the equipment will be in plain sight: next to the router at an entrance, on a shelf, or in an office, where a black box stands out and a white one blends in. It is not designed for outdoor use or in a non-ventilated cabinet: it operates between 0 and 40 °C.
What else is needed besides the box. A hard drive: it has a bay for a 3.5″ SATA HDD of up to 16 TB, which is not included. It is powered by DC 230V (50 Hz) and connects to the network via RJ45.
How to install it on the Costa del Sol. 200 × 200 × 45 mm and 700 g, for indoor use with a working humidity of up to 75%. On the Costa del Sol, it is common to mount it next to the communication cabinet and keep a single app on the mobile with the cameras and the alarm inside; cameras can connect via ONVIF or RTSP, whether they are Ajax or not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the cameras be viewed in the same app as the alarm?
Yes, and that is the purpose of this recorder: cameras and alarm can be monitored from the Ajax app already used by the family, without switching programs for each function.
If I have a recorder, do I need an alarm?
Yes, because they serve different purposes: a recorder does not monitor, it stores. The alarm is what alerts you when something is happening. It makes sense to install both and keep them in a single app.
What is the bandwidth for each camera?
Up to 100 Mbps of total bandwidth, shared among the eight, with recording up to 4K at 25/30 FPS and H.265 or H.264 compression. This distribution is the calculation made before choosing the cameras.
