Description
The 16-channel recorder with 16 PoE ports for ordinary installations: 160 Mbps of bandwidth and two drives of up to 16 TB. It covers the same 16 cameras as the Superior model, but with less headroom and without its AI object detection. Indoor unit, and no hard drive in the box.

Who it’s for and who it’s not for. This is the recorder for an installation that already has many cameras —up to 16— and wants to power each one through its own network cable. It is not the equipment for a home with two or three cameras, and it is also not the Superior model: there is no object detection through artificial intelligence here.
What else is needed besides the box. The drives: it has two bays for 3.5″ SATA HDDs of up to 16 TB, which are not included. The recorder is powered by AC 100~240 V (50/60 Hz) and the cameras from their own PoE ports.
How to install it on the Costa del Sol. It is an indoor unit, with IP20 protection and a range of 0 °C to 40 °C, measuring 330 × 330 × 44 mm: it needs a ventilated place, with a socket and preferably hidden, because whoever takes the recorder takes the recording. It outputs via HDMI up to 3840 × 2160 and can be viewed on mobile with the Ajax app.

Do the cameras get powered from the recorder?
Yes. It has 16 PoE 802.3af/at ports, so each camera needs only one network cable to here: data and power. This avoids the need to find a socket at each point.
What does it lack compared to the Superior model?
In two specific things: this supports up to 160 Mbps of bandwidth and does not have the object detection through artificial intelligence of the Superior. It covers the 16 cameras equally.
Does it accept cameras that are not Ajax?
Yes, it supports ONVIF and RTSP cameras, and records from 12 MP downwards. Recording can be scheduled by time or motion detection.
