Who it’s for and who it’s not for. This is the switch for a home or a location with four to eight cameras, especially for long runs: its extended PoE reaches up to 250 meters. It is not a rack-mounted device: it is desktop, and in a large installation, it may fall short on ports.

What else is needed besides the box. Its power supply is an external adapter of 54V/2.4A. The SFP combo port module, if to be used, is chosen separately.

How to install it on the Costa del Sol. 108 × 28 × 202 mm: it fits on a shelf, behind the router, or inside a small cabinet, indoors and from 0 °C to 40 °C. On the Costa del Sol, it is the equipment that solves the shed at the back of the plot or the camera at the distant gate without bringing power there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far does the cable reach with extended PoE?
Up to 250 meters, and it is configurable on all its ports. This allows placing a camera at the back gate or in a separate shed without bringing a plug to that point.

How many ports are left free for the router?
Eight RJ45 ports of 10/100/1000 Mbps with PoE for the cameras, plus two RJ45 uplink and one combo SFP. The last three are used to connect to the router, so no camera port needs to be sacrificed.

Can it be hidden in a closed furniture?
It fits, but it should not be airtight: it is an indoor device from 0 °C to 40 °C and a PoE switch with eight cameras connected generates heat. Better to use a ventilated shelf than a drawer.
