Description
The five-port switch solves the most common problem of all: there is one wall socket and you need three. This Reyee does it at gigabit speed and in a metal casing, which is what sets it apart from the usual plastic switch that runs hot in summer.
It has 10 Gbps of capacity and a MAC table of 2,000 addresses, more than enough for a TV corner, a home office or a living room with a console, a set-top box and a computer.
- Five 10/100/1000 Mbps ports: one for the incoming cable and four to share out.
- Auto MDI/MDIX: no crossover cables to worry about, plug it in and it works.
- 5 W at most, with an external 5 V adapter.
- Very small: 119 × 62 × 24 mm.
- Working range of 0 to 40 °C.
It has no PoE and is unmanaged, and that is precisely the point: there is nothing to configure. If what you want is to power cameras over the network cable, that is a different model — and we will happily point at it. Against the plastic five-port, what you pay for here is the metal casing: it copes better with a closed cupboard and a coastal summer.
