Most IP intercom kits are sold half-finished: door station and monitor, and then it turns out you need a PoE switch nobody mentioned. This one comes with its own — a 4-port PoE DH-PFS3005-4ET-36E with an uplink — so the job closes with what is in the box.
The door station is built for the weather at IP65: a 1/4″ 1 MP CMOS camera, two-way G.711 audio and an IC card reader so a fob gets you in. Inside there is a 7″ touchscreen at 1024×600 with H.265/H.264 video. Both accept 12 V DC or PoE, and the set adds alarm inputs — two on the station, six on the monitor, plus one output and an SOS button — RS485 and surface mounting.
How we install it. One network run from the switch to the door station and another to the monitor: data and power travel down them, so no socket is needed beside the door. The switch stays indoors next to the router, and it is the piece that has to be left accessible for maintenance. The station is surface-mounted, square and at the height where a caller’s face lands in frame; then we set up the cards, the door release and the DMSS app on your phone, and test the call both ways before we leave.
