Description
This is the door station: the piece mounted by the front door or the gate, with the camera, the call button and the speaker. It is chosen by people who already have a monitor — or plan to add one later — and need to replace the old doorbell with something they can see from their phone.
The camera is a 1/2.8″ 2-megapixel CMOS, with infrared illumination at night, an ICR day/night filter and light compensation. It opens 110° horizontally and carries 120 dB WDR plus 2D and 3D noise reduction, which is what stops a south-facing door from burning out at noon and going black at dusk. It compresses in H.265 and H.264, and the call button is mechanical: it works with wet fingers, gloves, or shopping in your hands. It is declared outdoor-rated at IP65 and accepts PoE power.
How we install it. Surface-mounted beside the entrance, and the height is the detail that decides whether it works: too high and it frames the top of a visitor’s head, too low and it is easy to tamper with. We run network cable to wherever the switch sits — data and power travel down it with PoE, so no socket is needed at the door — aim it away from direct sun, and leave pairing with the monitor, the door release and the phone app set up, with the call tested both ways.
