Description
The Hub 2 is the panel that covers an ordinary house properly: 100 devices, up to 50 users and room for 25 IP cameras or recorder channels. It is Grade 2 certified and communicates over Ethernet and two 2G (GPRS) SIMs, so a cut line does not leave it mute.
What gets used most day to day, and is almost never mentioned, are the arming groups: the listing declares up to 9. In plain terms, you can arm the ground floor while sleeping upstairs, or keep the garage and garden protected with the family at home. That is what makes an alarm get switched on every day rather than only when you go away. Add its own 868 MHz radio with Jeweller and Wings (the second carries photo-detector images), an anti-tamper switch, Contact ID and SIA for a monitoring centre, and remote firmware updates. In the box: the panel, the power cable and the network cable.
How we install it. Indoors, screwed to the SmartBracket with its rear tamper, power beside it, a network socket if the cable path is used, and both SIMs with the PIN removed. We look for a spot away from metal cabinets and more than a metre from the router, because that is where radio range is lost. We register each device by QR in the app, set the arming groups up with the family — who arms what, and from where — and check the signal device by device.
If you need more than 100 devices or cameras, the step up is the Hub 2 Plus. The 6 V-powered variant is the AJ-HUB2-DC6V-W. As a kit, with photo detector and key fob, the AJ-STARTERKIT-CAM-HDR-W.
