Description
The Hub 2 Plus is Ajax’s large panel: the one you fit when the installation does not fit on a normal one. The figure that sums it up is 200 devices and up to 100 IP cameras or recorder channels on the same system, against 100 and 25 on the Hub 2. A villa with a guest house, garage, pool and shed, or a business over several floors, fits here without running out of room in two years.
It communicates over four routes — Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two 4G (LTE) SIMs — so it takes a lot of coincidences at once to leave the system mute. Its own 868 MHz radio runs Jeweller and Wings, the latter carrying photo-detector images. Anti-tamper switch, up to 200 users (capped at 10 between wireless sirens and touchscreen keypads), Contact ID and SIA to a monitoring centre, and a backup battery good for up to 15 hours. The box holds the panel, the power cable and the Ethernet cable.
How we install it. Indoors — Ajax forbids outdoor mounting — screwed to the SmartBracket, whose rear tamper reports anyone taking it down. It needs a power point, a network socket if the cable path is used, and both SIMs in with their PIN disabled. Siting it is real work: away from metal cabinets, more than a metre from the router, and somewhere the radio reaches the whole property. Each device is added by QR in the app and its signal checked one by one.
If the radio does not reach one area, a signal repeater fixes it. As a kit, with photo detector and contact included, it is the AJ-STARTERKITPLUS-CAM-HDR-W. All the panels are under Ajax alarm hubs.
