Indoor Motion Detector Ajax White

Description

This is the detector almost every Ajax installation has several of: an indoor volumetric PIR covering a whole room — 12 metres at 88.5° — with a lens of 24 zones across 6 planes, mounted at 2.4 m.

Two numbers set it apart from any old detector. The first is Grade 2, the level normally asked for in a home. The second is the battery: around 7 years on a single CR123A, so you can forget about it for the best part of a decade.

• Pet immunity up to 20 kg and 50 cm tall.
• Three sensitivity levels, adjustable from the app.
• Jeweller at 868 MHz, up to 1,700 m in open space: it goes where it protects, not where the cable reaches.
• Alarm, tamper and signal LEDs, so you can see at a glance what is going on.
• 110 × 65 × 50 mm in white ABS: unnoticeable in a corner.

Two limits worth stating: it has no anti-masking and it is indoor (0 to 50 °C). A motion detector protects the volume of a room, so it trips once the intruder is already inside; if you want it to trip earlier, curtain detectors are the ones to look at.
