- Smart Dual Light up to 30 m: two infrared LEDs and two warm-light LEDs. At night it records in black and white without drawing attention and, when it detects something, it can switch to warm light to record in colour — which is what lets you identify clothing or a vehicle.
- SMD 4.0: Dahua’s motion detection that tells people and vehicles apart from everything else. Fewer false alarms, and at greater distance.
- 120 dB WDR, HLC and defog mode: it copes with a backlit garage door and with headlights coming straight at it in the dark.

Who it’s for and who it’s not. This is the camera for the main entrance: 8 MP and 106° horizontal coverage spans an entryway, porch, or parking space. It’s not suitable for a narrow hallway where that angle would be wasted, nor for a location without network cable access.
What else is needed besides the box. Power via PoE 802.3af, with a maximum consumption of 9.4 W, or a 12 V DC power supply with 7.7 W. The disk where recordings are stored is managed by the recorder, not the camera.
How we install it on the Costa del Sol. It measures 288.4 mm in length and weighs 1 kg: requires a sturdy mount and a thoughtful height, with IP67 protection. We sell and install on the Costa del Sol: wiring, mounting, recorder configuration, and the mobile app tested before we leave. If the house is empty for periods, it can be set up for remote viewing.

What does SMD 4.0 do that a normal motion detection doesn’t?
Two measurable things: fewer false alarms and greater detection distance. A standard motion detection can trigger with a shadow or rain; this one classifies what it sees before alerting.
What is the Defog mode for?
For days with haze or suspended humidity, where the air reduces contrast and the image appears washed out. It also features BLC, HLC, WDR of 120 dB, SSA, and 3D-NR.
Can the framing be corrected after it’s fixed?
Yes, it has 3-axis adjustment: 0°~360° horizontal rotation, 0°~90° tilt, and 0°~360° image rotation. Fine adjustments are made by viewing the image, not from the ground.
