Description
This version of the Hub 2 exists for one specific reason: it does not run off the mains, it runs on 4.2 to 10 V DC. It is the panel for a cabinet that already has a DC supply, for a battery- or solar-powered installation, or for the enclosure where there is no 230 V socket and never will be.
Otherwise it is a full Hub 2: Grade 2, up to 100 devices, 50 users, 25 IP cameras or recorder channels and up to 9 arming groups. It communicates over Ethernet and two 2G (GPRS) SIMs, with its own 868 MHz radio on Jeweller and Wings, an anti-tamper switch, Contact ID and SIA, remote firmware updates and a backup battery good for up to 16 hours. Its electrical figures are published: up to 2.2 A input at 4.2 V (0.8 A at 10 V), 1.5 A output and an average draw of 95 mA per hour — exactly what you need to size a battery or a panel. The box holds the panel and the CON280 connector.
How we install it. Indoors, on its SmartBracket with the rear tamper, and here the work starts earlier: we have to settle where that DC comes from and check the supply carries the load with margin — with 95 mA per hour published, the sum is straightforward. Then the network socket if the cable path is used, both SIMs with the PIN removed, a spot away from metal cabinets and more than a metre from the router, each device added by QR and signal checked one by one.
If there is an ordinary socket, the sensible choice is the AJ-HUB2-W; and if you need 4G instead of 2G, the AJ-HUB2-4G-B. All of them under Ajax alarm hubs.
