Description
A fixed camera covers one angle; this one moves. It turns 345° horizontally and 80° vertically from your phone, so a single camera can follow what happens across a whole courtyard, a warehouse or the pool instead of always watching the same slice. And it connects over Wi-Fi, so no network cable has to be run to it — only power.
It records at 4 MP (2560×1440) with a 1/2.7″ sensor, a fixed 2.8 mm lens and a 91° horizontal field — and this matters: it moves, but it has no optical zoom; it closes in digitally, not optically. Colour sensitivity of 0.01 lux, DWDR, BLC, HLC and 3D-DNR, plus motion detection that classifies people and vehicles, which is what stops your phone buzzing at every branch. It has a microphone and speaker, a microSD slot up to 512 GB and an IP66 rating. It runs on 12 V DC (10 W max) and is managed from Hik-Connect, a browser or iVMS-4200.
How we install it. It needs power at the point and Wi-Fi coverage measured right there: the listing declares up to 50 m depending on the environment, and in a house with thick walls that number drops. So we check signal before fixing anything, and if it does not hold we propose an access point or a wired camera rather than leaving a camera that keeps dropping. Then we set the pan limits and the preset positions, so the camera does not end up looking at the neighbour’s plot — which is a privacy matter as well.
If you need real optical zoom to watch at distance, you have to move to the Dahua PTZs, such as the 4 MP PTZ with 25x zoom. If it goes on a pole, the 4.5 m galvanised pole. Everything else is under Hikvision outdoor cameras.
