4.5M Galvanised Steel CCTV Pole

Description

Height does half the work in outdoor CCTV. A camera at two metres gets blocked by a parked van, reached with a stick, and framed mostly at the ground. At four and a half metres it sees over the cars, covers more ground with the same lens, and sits out of reach of anyone standing below.

This pole is galvanised steel, rated IP65, and arrives as three 1.5-metre sections you assemble on site — which is what lets you carry it through a doorway and get it onto a roof terrace without a crane. It comes with mounts for a PTZ camera and for a bullet, plus a lightning-rod mount, and that’s worth thinking about: a four-and-a-half-metre steel mast in open ground is the tallest thing on the plot. It ships flat-packed.

Which height to choose. For a gate, a porch or a small yard where you only need to gain a little height, the 3.5 m pole is shorter and quicker to put up. 4.5 m is the middle ground for a property entrance, a car park or a pool area. If you need to sweep a large plot, a warehouse or a long driveway, go up to the 6 m pole, which comes in five sections. All three sit together under camera poles.

How we install it. What holds a pole up is not the pole: it is the base. A concrete block with anchor bolts is cast, left to cure, then the mast is raised and plumbed; the cable runs inside the tube and exits where the mount goes. The foundation is sized against the real weight of the camera and the wind exposure of the site. Foundation, raising, cabling and framing are ours.
